Meet the Author
Cynthia Kern OBrien has always been a natural storyteller, but it wasn’t until her grandchildren were born that she truly found her niche: children’s books. As an outlet for her writing, OBrien established Pickles House Publications, an independent publishing house named for her adorable dog Pickles. Then, she teamed up with award-winning illustrator Rosemarie Gillen to create the A True Story by Granny picture book series.
Inspired by real events and conversations with her granddaughter, Chloe, this series is written especially for young children. In 2019, OBrien published her titles under the Pickles House Publications name: I Used to be a Fairy, The Tooth Fairy and the Baby Elf and I Don't Want to Go to Preschool the Fairy Queen Calls.
